Downtown Tom’s Water Bagels, second batch

Newly minted mad kitchen scientist Downtown Tom has been continuing his experiments with yeast, whole wheat flour, poppy seeds and flax seeds. reporting that his bagels are getting to be so good, he doesn’t think he’ll be able to eat store-bought bagels anymore. I’ll be in town this weekend to sample them in person – in the meantime, they look great – good work Dad!

Little Beauties

Those on the left will be layered with a salad made of tuna, hard boiled eggs and jalapenos. Those on the right will be eaten as is or toasted and layered with cream cheese.

  1. I’m seeing a Downtown Tom’s Bagel Kiosk (I was thinking a cart at first, but I think he’s much more upscale, don’t you?). Make sure you get him an apron with his handsome face on it.

  2. I have eaten these bagels and believe me, they are the best in the world. The addition of currants with a sprinkling of granola is beyond delicious.
